The rainproof Kumotsu RE backpack is made from recycled nylon, which is characterized by its robust lightness. The main compartment closes with a practical 2-way zipper. It features various insert pockets, a zippered pocket, a padded compartment for your notebook, pen holders and a key strap. Small essentials can also be safely stored in a moisture-protected zipper pocket on the front. Padded straps and an ergonomically shaped back ensure extra carrying comfort.

Specially developed a/u REnuno fabric for our Japan RE line: The lightweight yet durable outer material consists of certified recycled nylon under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). In addition to a water-repellent finish, a PFAS-free coating reliably protects against moisture and gives the material a highly functional, weather-resistant surface. We also use high-strength sewing thread treated to repel water. The YKK Racquet Coil zips are protected by a similar treatment. The premium cowhide leather details are sourced from an LWG-certified tannery. The a/u lining is crafted from recycled polyester.
CARE
- Remove surface dirt with a soft, colourless cloth, water and mild soap or washing-up liquid
- Avoid heavy rubbing when cleaning
- Leather care lotions, oils, waxes, disinfectants and alcohol-based cleaning agents may damage the coating and should not be applied to the nylon
- Occasional use of a lotion for open-pored genuine leather will keep the leather details supple

This style is carefully handmade in a SMETA-audited manufacturing facility. aunts & uncles is a member of the Leather Working Group (LWG). Our leather comes from LWG-certified tanneries. Independent LWG audits assess factors including energy and water consumption, wastewater treatment and chemical management.
